Canada Games: The Y Penguins have had 3 athletes represent Ontario at the Canada Games. Jenna Lambert and Chris Sergeant competed at the 2009 Canada Games where Chris won a bronze medal in the 100 breast and silver in the 100 fly. In 2013 Cassidy Tran represented Ontario at both the 2013 and 2017 Canada Games. She won a gold medal in the 50 breast stroke in 2013.
Paralympic Trials: The Y Penguins have been represented at the Paralympic Trials since 2004. In 2016 they will bring 7 athletes to compete at this prestigious competition. These athletes include: Robert Hampson, Rene Hart, Emily Sayeau, Chris Sergeant, Nik Tolgyesi, Cassidy Tran, and Abi Tripp
Para Pan Am Games: 4 Y Penguin athletes represented Canada at the Para Pan Am Games. Jenna Lambert, Chris Sergeant–Tsonos and Nik Tolgyesi competed in 2011 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Chris Sergeant-Tsonos and Abi Tripp competed at the 2015 Games in Toronto, Canada. Chris won a bronze and a silver medal at the Guadalajara Games and a Bronze at the Toronto games.
World Championships: Four Y Penguins have represented Canada at World Championships. Jenna Lambert competed at the 2010 SC championships in Rio De Janeiro. Chris Sergeant – Tsonos competed at two games, one in Eindhoven in the Netherlands and one in Montreal, Canada. Abi Tripp represented Canada at the 2017 World Championships in Mexico City. Jeremy Baird won a bronze medal in Triathlon in Hamburg, Germany in 2007.
Paralympic Games: At the age of 15, Abi Tripp was the first Y Penguin to qualify and race at the Paralympic Games. Abi raced in 5 events setting 2 Canadian records. Abi has represented Canada at 5 international meets and repeatedly set and broke set Canadian records in the 400 free, 200 IM, 50 and 100 breast stroke. She has won 2 bronze medals – one at the 2018 Commonwealth games and one in the women’s 4×100 free relay at the 2019 Para Swimming World Championships in London, GB.
