Y Penguins Give Back

Shortly after his 4th birthday, Y Penguin Robert Hampson was diagnosed with a brain tumour.  Surgery for that tumour left Robert blind. Robert was a national level swimmer, studied Health Fitness and Promotion at St Lawrence College. Today he works at Variety Village a state of the art facility for people who live with physical and mental impairments.

Robert has collected over 60 million tabs to help supply equipment and wheelchairs for kids.

Y Penguins Get Moving

This project is spearheaded by Y Penguin Abi Tripp.  It encourages businesses and community groups to update the familiar wheelchair user logo, to a symbol that depicts a more active, engaged person. Y Penguins work with businesses and community groups to educate about the need to update the symbol and assist in posting updated symbols around the city of Kingston.
